(Sanskrit) The oldest and most sacred scriptures of Hinduism, consisting of the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharva Veda. They are believed to be "apaurusheya" (not of human origin) and contain hymns, rituals, and philosophical teachings.
